Diving at Het Onderwaterbos

Would you like to learn how to scuba dive? Do you already have a diving certification seeking for a buddy or for a friendly dive club? Then you are at the right place! Our diving club “Het Onderwaterbos” offers many opportunities!

One of the most sociable diving clubs in the Bollenstreek region!

groepsfotoOur scuba diving club has some 60 members and our homebase is De Wasbeek, the swimming hall in Sassenheim (Teylingen). Over 40 year we have organised a lot of activities for our members,  such as:

  • Weekly dives in the waters in the surrounding area
  • Diving courses and special trainings for all skill levels
  • Excursions and Campingweekends
  • In the winter indoor training sessions at De Wasbeek

We treat diving as a recreational sport that enriches our life and provides both fun and relaxation. Common interests, nature and social gatherings characterize the activities of our dive club.

No matter what kind of certification PADI, SSI or any other

Zeelandweekeinde2015Our club is affiliated with the Dutch underwatersport association NOB. We recognise scuba diving certifications of other organisations e.g. of PADI or SSI. This means you can probably continue your training according your current level without additional exams or lessons. All our dive courses are recognised internationally and the CMAS certification is accepted everywhere confirming your scuba diving skills.

You do not yet have experience with the particularities of the Dutch waters e.g. dives in tidal waters? No problem! With us you will gain the needed know-how.

We also speak English and German

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERADutch is of course the main language in our club. However, we speak also English and German. Thus, the language is not an obstacle. Just come along and learn more about us.

Always a buddy close-by

20150513.hemelvaart (04 (5)Scuba diving is one of the most fascinating and beautiful sports you can do. It allows you to explore the diverse and colorful underwater world while being virtually weightless. Our members do not have to search long for a buddy when they want to dive. During the diving season from May to September Het Onderwaterbos organises 2 dives every week. Buddy guaranteed!

Safety first!

Het Onderwaterbos puts much emphasis on safe and responsible diving. At each club-dive a qualified and experienced dive leader is present at the site coordinating the safety measures and the emergency equipment (oxygen, AED, first aid kit) as required.

Holland offers a lot, also underwater

Is it fun to dive in Holland ? Is there anything to see? Is it not too cold? Scuba diving provides amazing experiences in the underwater world with the opportunity to encounter many animals and plants in their own habitats. Admittedly, the Dutch waters are not tropical blue and their temperatures rarely exceed 20°C, however, they do have their own charm. Here a few impressions of the Dutch marine life shot by our members:
